Answer by bearandtjmommy Yes. I am sure there are outpatient facilities. You may want to request a mentor or partner for the times outside the center. Its wonderful that you want to get better. Centers are willing to assist. Additionally volunteer if you can and some of the local shelters while you are recovering. This can help give you a sense of self and help you stay on the track to recovery…thats only if you are ready to do so emotionally.

my boyfriend has been clean for going on 8 months now (he used for 6 years) He goes to NA meetings 3 times a week but does not work the steps and does not have a sponsor.

It will be near impossible to stay clean for good without at least out patient rehab/counseling. If you contact your local government they have programs for rehabilitation which are free depending on your income.

I know what drugs I need (it’s a drug I need to be on for the long term). I don’t want to keep going to the doctor for a prescripton and blowing money away going to the drugstore. as far as I am concerned, the entire system we get our medicine in this country is a scam set up by the medical companies and their lobyists in Washington, but that’s another issue.
