Why are horses used in drug rehabilitation programs?

January 30, 2012 - 12:57 pm 6 Comments

Question by : Why are horses used in drug rehabilitation programs?
I always wondered about this….

Anyone know?

Best answer:

Answer by Stephanie
Because all animals, including horses, have no fear or hate towards humans unless it is put there. So when the people bond with the horses, it gives them something to look forward to, and something that they have to do. They use horses for MANY therapy programs, some including physical therapy, mental, etc.

Question by alexander: Is Methodone used for Meth-amphetimes addiction?
My relative is taking therapy. I thought he was taking the methodone at the clinic, daily, for his meth-amphenine addiction; after reading some info on web I wonder if he’s taking that treatment/therapy for a different drug problem/ or addiction. ALSO, does his eating grapefruit hurt his treatment? I meant – will it affect it? Thank you for any info/ replies. (worried sis) in USA.

I am looking for the type of treatment that like a rapid detox for hereon users, this treatment involves clinic visits where you go in and they hook you up to something that cleans out your system thus taking away the toxins and also eliminates the cravings, the falling asleep effects, etc…

At the same time, the rate of 12 to 17 year olds perceiving great risk in using marijuana has decreased. In the 1992 NHSDA, 39 percent of youths reported that smoking marijuana once a month is of great risk to people compared with 33 percent in 1996. Similarly, in 1992, 64 percent of youths reported smoking marijuana once or twice a week was of great risk to people compared with 57 percent in 1996 (SAMHSA 1997b). The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has reported that marijuana can be harmful both from immediate effects and damage to health over time. July 26, 2010 - 1:15 pm 2 Comments

Question by Kristy T: can methadone be used in treating crystal meth addiction?
I know someone who has used any type of speed he could get his hands on for the last 10 years. His drug of choice for the last few years has been crystal meth, or ice as it is called. He really wants to just have a normal life now but this addiction has a hold on him that he can’t get loose from. I heard methadone clinics can help with this but I can’t find anything on the net about it.

Best answer:

Answer by wickdsht4life
Yes, methadone has been used successfully to help lean people of crystal meth addictions in the past. However, in many cases it is simply an addiction replacement as the rehab patients now become addicted to methadone.

Alison Kruses ufos filmed in Pennsylvania, which are ufos and not airplanes which some people who obviously havent watched many ufo videos say are….. and 2 tracks from JETHRO TULL at CARNEGIE HALL in 1970..Where the first Jethro Tull box five years earlier, 20 Years of Jethro Tull, mostly traded on radio broadcast performances and rarities, a few outtakes, and a remastered collection of key songs, 25th Anniversary Boxed Set benefits from a more thorough raid on the vaults that has yielded up one essential addition to any Jethro Tull collection. Disc two is the centerpiece of the set, containing an additional hour of the group’s November 4, 1970 concert at Carnegie Hall in New York (two pieces were previously issued on Living in the Past). Preserved on a 16-track master tape, this benefit show for the drug rehabilitation program Phoenix House was the group’s most prominent American gig up to that time. Many of my friends were at Phoenix House, in London, and indeed i myself was supposed to go there, but in the end i went elsewhere to a different rehab in Surrey. Jethro Tull had its roots in the British blues boom of the late ’60s. Anderson (b. Aug. 10, 1947, Edinburgh, Scotland) had moved to Blackpool when he was 12. His first band was called the Blades, named after James Bond’s club, with Michael Stephens on guitar, Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond (b. July 30, 1946) on bass and John Evans (b. Mar. 28, 1948) on drums, playing a mix of jazzy blues and soulful dance music on the

Why is amphetamine no longer used for weight loss?

January 13, 2010 - 10:23 pm 7 Comments

It is just because of the abuse potential, because I’m sure it’s not that bad. Used for weight loss, it probably would be more effective and easy than any other treatment. I can’t believe they’d rather cut you open and mess with your stomach instead of just give you a prescription for amphetamine. I take the stuff for ADHD and it doesn’t seem like anything anybody would want to abuse.
