Question by aditi is: I want to find buprenorphine-administering drug rehabilitation centers in Freeport, Texas. How?
I have come across information that claims buprenorphine to be better than methadone. I would like to know if this is true, hence the search for drug rehabs. The Internet provides sketchy details and I have found some sources to be contradicting.

I agree with you that the Internet sometimes provides confusing details. I too have heard of the news that buprenorphine happens to be more appealing than methadone, but then again, I don’t know much about the subject. Below are links that may get to help you in your search. Good luck! I do hope that you get the information you need.

Any suggestions as to how to find drug rehabilitation centers in Mexia, Texas?

February 12, 2011 - 6:56 pm 1 Comment

Question by destiny ls: Any suggestions as to how to find drug rehabilitation centers in Mexia, Texas?
I have a friend who idolizes someone who used to do heroin (that person’s dead now). I guess my friend really wanted to know what her idol saw in heroin that she began trying it too, and now she’s hooked. I want to help her, even if it’s just by finding a drug rehab for her. Any suggestions as to how I could convince her to get herself treated too?

Best answer:

Answer by CARRIE S
I’m really sorry that your friend became addicted to heroin. I think it would be good to conduct a drug intervention for her. Do her parents know about her fixation on heroin? I think it would be good if they knew. At least then they could take her to a doctor and she’ll be assessed by a professional. As for finding drug rehabs, the links below will surely be able to help you out. You can also ask around at various drug rehabs if they have intervention specialists that will be willing to assist you with the intervention.

Q&A: How much methamphetamines qualifies for “intent to distribute” in Texas?

Question by SWATgirl: How much methamphetamines qualifies for “intent to distribute” in Texas?
Is four grams a third degree felony and is it considered distribution?

Hard to believe this question has been here for two hours with no answers.

And I don’t know that I can give the definite answer, but I think I can offer something.

I doubt that Texas (or any state) has an automatic quantity of methamphetamine that makes it intent to distribute. They might, and certainly ten pounds should qualify, but what about five… one… half pound… quarter pound…etc.

The problem is that I can make a case for intent to distribute if I’ve got a case with four grams of methamphetamine, empty baggies, a scale, a list of buyers, a bunch of twenty dollar bills, and surveillance showing lots of people in and out of a house. Might even be able to make that case with only two grams of methamphetamine.

So while Texas might have a minimum amount required to support the charge, I doubt it just because a lot will depend on the particular circumstances of the case.

And I’m sorry, but I can’t address the third degree felony business (we don’t even have “degree” crimes here). There are some Texas cops here, though, and maybe one of them can comment further.

Is a DWI arrest in Texas automatic grounds for having probation revoked?

January 12, 2010 - 8:34 am 5 Comments

My son is on probation in Texas for a felony theft. He was arrested yesterday for DWI, which is his second DWI in 4 years. Will his probation for the theft automatically be revoked?
Also, can an attorney really help, or is it pretty much in the hands of a judge regardless of representation?
