I have a friend who died due to the adverse effects of heroin. For a time, I was just angry at drugs, angry at the people who were doing drugs. Don’t they know that they’re hurting their loved ones by doing that? But then I realized that my anger won’t do me any good at all. So now I have decided to help out. I would like to become an addiction counselor and I need to ask around at various rehabs about the requirement before I become one.

Answer by cinthia cb Wow. I’m glad that you were able to realize that being angry won’t solve anything. I applaud your decision of wanting to become an addiction counselor. I think having experience in doing social work will really help you. I think you have to take up a program or a few courses on addiction counseling before you become qualified, but it varies between drug rehabs, I guess. Anyway, to find them, you can use the links below. You can also browse through the local phone directory or call your local health services department to ask for a list of drug rehab centers near you. Good luck! ive been on meth for 2 and half months now and im straight addicted. my mom just lost her house and her puppy died. should i just jump on the bandwagon and tell her that meth has taken over my life. or should i wait a while? help?

My boyfriend is an alcoholic. He started drinking when we broke up before. Now that we’re back together again, I want to get him back to how he was before we broke up. He’s really changed now. He’s more violent, and his alcoholism is getting in the way of our relationship. I really want to find alcohol rehabs for him.

Answer by annelise il It’s a good thing that you didn’t just break up with him. Your support and encouragement will really make a difference. You can take him to a doctor. At least then the doctor will be able to properly check up on him and assess his situation. The doctor will also give you recommendations regarding rehabs. I do hope that your boyfriend gets treated soon. It must be hard being in a relationship with someone who’s alcoholic. Just hang on, though. You can get through this.

I take oxycotin and i’m running low.Its time for my 3 mo urine test. if i take a loratab before going to the doctor will it show up as the same thing as ocycotin.

I am a recovering (never say recovered – 6 yrs though) addict of another CDS and so is my husband, but he is struggling with this crack addiction. I want to know what exactly crack is doing when inhaled. I am very unfamiliar with this and it is the most powerful thing I have ever seen. He has made a commitment to stopping but I want to know more for me. I’ve looked at websites, but you always get the best info from people who have been through it or know first hand.
