Question by worldpeaceplse: If someone is trying to get clean and sober and keeps using, but always wants my help, what do I do?
A friend habitually drinks after around thirty days clean and sober, but wants to get help from me and does not want me to give up on them. Every time there is a relapse there is guilt and shame, but a week later wants to continue to try. I do not know what to do, and I am growing weary of this situation. They could die from late stage alcoholism, but cannot go into in-patient rehabilitation, due to circumstances. I have been there for them and also in recovery. What should I do that will be most effective that might click?

Answer by FORZA ITALIAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! Tell them the truth – that you are sick and tired of the cycle and can’t do anything to help them if they don’t honestly want to help themselves. Say “DUDE- YOU ARE GONNA DIE!!!” and see where that gets ya. Tell them to check into treatment. There’s really nothing you can do – it’s up to him to make those choices in his life.

Why drug and alcohol addiction rip families apart? Why addiction causes mothers and fathers to leave their children and lose everything they have? What causes addiction and how does it creep into people’s lives and overwhelm them until there’s nothing left but the drugs and the pain? Well the TRUTH is that there are very exact and known reasons why a person begins using DRUGS and ALCOHOL and then becomes addicted to them. There are also exact reasons why a person finds it IMPOSSIBLE to stop using drugs once they’ve become addicted. Addiction leaves the family asking the question, “Why can’t my loved one just STOP?” Finally, there is a book that answers these questions and many more… Visit, www.about-drugs.org
There is a problem in my apartment building, but law enforcement has only taken a hit and miss approach to this matter, including questioning the persons involved. Does anyone really think someone manufacturing methamphetamine would admit it to law enforcement? Law enforcement actually told someone who complained to stop contacting to law enforcement!
A friend of mine likes to get drunk about once a month, because he enjoys losing control. He described a typical night of partying as being 12 drinks. He also claims that he would be fine to drive after this, and I’m wondering if he has an alochol problem.
I am a 29 year old woman living in Central Oregon. I just broke up with my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years due to his binge drinking. I love him, but it became too much. I have been home all day…tried gardening, took a walk, but still feel down in the dumps. Any ideas to pick up my spirits?
I thought he would never touch any illicit drugs. He never used any illicit drugs until the age of 50. I think he is using marijuana to get high. Whenever I think about illicit drugs, I always have horrible thoughts. Is there anyway that I can convince him to stop using?
