Ron Hubbard earned a plaque of recognition from the Dangerous Drugs Board yesterday, with world famous singer and Scientology advocate David Pomeranz receiving the posthumous award on his behalf. (L. Ron Hubbard, is known for writing science fiction novels and founding the Church of Scientology. Hubbard was a highly controversial public figure during his lifetime. Many details presented by Hubbard of his life and knowledge, remain disputed by critics, media, scientists, and governments. Some documents written by Hubbard himself suggest he regarded Scientology as a business, not a religion. In one letter dated April 10, 1953, he says calling Scientology a religion solves, “a problem of practical business”.
