Question by damon: this question is in regards to another yahoo answers question titled “abusive parents what can I do?”?
The person was beaten by her dad for underage drinking. Everyone answered that she deserved the beating and /or minimized the severity of said beating. But no one ever suggested getting treatment (counseling and maybe rehabilitation) for a possible problem with the beginnings of alcoholism ,i.e., the problem of potential alcoholism is not addressed, only the symptom. Pls look up the question in yahoo answers and read the responses. Why is this?

Best answer:

Answer by Dude
Becuase THOUSANDS of children drink when they are underage, this is NOT in any way and indication of someone who is an alcolohic.

I drank from 13 – now (40) in various amounts. Huge amounts in high school and college, now just socially. At no point in time was i an alcolohic
