Question by Coma Gray: Meth addiction/ emotional abuse Memoir. A few questions.?
I am writing my memoir about my past abusive relationship that lead to meth addiction. First, I am wondering if it is ok to use real first names. I have researched this and am getting conflicting answers. I’m wondering your opinions.

Also, I am wondering how to start the book. I would like it to be known that I was a very good kid growing up. I never once got in trouble at school or at home and all of this happened suddenly. I want to begin with something to hold the readers interest but not reveal too much in the beginning. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Best answer:

Answer by lardawg54
First of all, you can use first names all you want. If they are public figures then you can use first and last without too much backlash.
As far as beginning a story line that would hold a persons interest. yes.., it happens to all of us would be writers. The cool thing is you will edit and re edit your memoirs several times before you share them with anyone for their critique. Good luck, I envy your courage.

Add your own answer in the comments!

These are some commonly asked questions about programs for drug rehabilitation in Nevada and how they are implemented. These questions are selected from people’s queries about this issue and the answers pertain to the general drug rehabilitation program, without referring to anyone in particular.

Q1. What is the basic aim of a drug rehabilitation in Nevada? What kind of treatment can I expect to get?

Unlike rehab programs in various parts of the world, drug rehab in Nevada clearly aims to remove every instance of the addiction from the person’s body and mind. The intention is to make the body cleansed of the addictive substance and also to make the mind of the person resilient enough to overcome the urges for the substance. When the drug rehab is through, the patient will likely never use the substance ever again.

Q2. What happens first when the patient is put into the drug rehab program in Nevada?

A person who gets into a drug rehab program in Nevada may not be willing to go through the treatment at all. The rate of withdrawal in the state is quite high. About 90% of the persons who are into drug addiction within the state are denying treatment. Due to this reason, they are wallowing in their addictions and creating more miseries for themselves.

However, people who have come into treatment have come through the agencies of their families and friends. But, even if they get enrolled in these treatment programs, it is quite possible that they will again relapse with their denial. When that happens, they will all of a sudden want to bail themselves out of the rehab center. If they cannot do that, they will become obstinate about the treatment methods used. This will make them nonresponsive to the treatment and it will become much more difficult to bring them to recovery.

Hence, the rehab centers will try to work this denial out of the patient. They will try to do this by using their own counselors and motivators who will professionally try to coax the patient to go through the treatment program. If that fails, they will ask the family and friends of the patient to step forward again and convince the patient. They will guide these amateur intervention groups to professionally motivate the patient for the treatment by providing a professional known as an interventionist to them.

Q3. Is detox always a part of drug rehabilitation in Nevada?

Though it is always very strongly recommended and though most programs in the state have the detox as a vital ingredient of their recovery system, it must be remembered that this phase is not a compulsory phase. Detox is needed when the patient is much advanced with their addiction or if there is a psychological or physical complication within the person that is making their addiction treatment difficult. However, for patients who have newly stumbled into the abuse, the detox may not be regarded as a compulsory procedure.

Q4. How long is the aftercare program connected with the drug rehabilitation program in Nevada?

No program on drug rehab in Nevada is complete without a suitable aftercare phase. This immediately follows the detox treatment and may stretch to several weeks after the person has been completely pulled out of the withdrawal that is connected wit the detox.

However, there is no specific duration for which the aftercare will be conducted. This actually depends on several factors. One of the most important factors is the nature of the person’s addiction itself. If the person has been for a longer period of time with the addiction, it becomes more difficult to bring them out of it because of the simple reason that it will be more difficult to wear their minds off the tendency to use the substance.

At the same time, different treatment programs have different inclusions in the aftercare program. Some of them may have a family counseling phase, while some of them might use a different medicinal approach that might need to be conducted for a longer period of time. In any case, there is no fixed determining factor for the length of the addiction.

Q5. What options do I have for the drug rehabilitation programs?

You can look at an alternative treatment therapy such as that which uses herbal methods. These are becoming quite popular in Nevada nowadays. You can also use a massage and acupuncture therapy. There is also no dearth of spiritual drug addiction treatment programs in the state.

Let us take a look at some commonly asked questions about programs for drug rehabilitation in Florida this will help us to educate about the rehab centre and how they are implemented. These questions are selected from people’s queries about this issue and the answers relate to the general drug rehabilitation program, without referring to anyone in particular.

Q1. What is the basic aim of drug rehabilitation? What kind of treatment can one expect to get?

The drug rehab clearly aims to eradicate every instance of the addiction from the person’s body and mind unlike other rehab programs in various parts of the world. The main purpose is to clean the body of the addictive substance. It also helps to make the mind of the person flexible enough to overcome the urges for the substance. Once the person is through from the treatment the patient will never use the substance ever again.

Q2. What happens first when the patient is put into the drug rehab program in Florida?

The rate of withdrawal in Florida is very high. Firstly a person who gets into a drug rehab program may not be willing to go through the treatment at all. Within the state there are about 90% of the people who are into drug addiction are denying treatment. Therefore due to this reason, they are deeply into the addictions and creating more miseries for themselves.

Though people who have come into treatment through their families and friends and have got them enrolled, still it is possible that they will again relapse with their denial. When that happens, they will all of a sudden want to bail themselves out of the rehab center. But if they are unable to do that, they will become determined about the treatment methods used. So this can make them non responsive to the treatment and it will become much more difficult to bring them to recovery.

But still the treatment centers try to work out the patient denial. Then with the help of counselors and family members who will professionally try to persuade the patient to go through the treatment program. If this does not work then they will take help from the family and friends to come forward again and convince the patient. The treatment centre will guide these amateur intervention groups to professionally motivate the patient for the treatment by providing a professional known as an interventionist to them.

Q3. Whether detox is always a part of drug rehabilitation in Florida?

Many programs believe detox is an important ingredient of their recovery system and it is very strongly recommended. But it must be remembered that this phase is not a compulsory phase for everyone. Detox is required only when the patient is much advanced with their addiction or if there is a psychological or physical complication within the person that is making their addiction treatment difficult. However, those patients who are into moderate situation of the addiction for them detox may not be regarded as a compulsory procedure.

Q4. How long is the aftercare program connected with the drug rehabilitation program in Florida?

Aftercare phase is the last program in the drug rehab. Any drug rehab is not complete without a suitable aftercare phase. It is immediately followed by the detox treatment and this may stretch to several weeks once the person has been completely removed from the withdrawal phase that is connected with the detox.

The actual duration depends on various factors but there is no specific time period for which the aftercare will be conducted. The most important factors are the nature of the person’s addiction itself. It depends on the extent of the person addiction if the person has been addicted for a longer period of time; it becomes more difficult to bring them out of it and also it is difficult to change their minds off the tendency to use the substance.

In the same way, many different treatment programs have different inclusions in the aftercare program. Different approaches are such as the family counseling phase, while some of them might use a different medicinal approach which might needed to be conducted for a longer period of time. But there may be no fixed determining factor for the length of the addiction.

Q5. What options do I have for the drug rehabilitation programs?

There are many alternative therapies such as that which uses herbal methods. These are becoming quite popular nowadays. You can also use a massage and have an acupuncture therapy. In the state even the spiritual drug addiction treatment programs are provided. But remember that these programs are not considered legal and sanctioned by the state authorities. So there might be practical difficulties in using them.
