Question by Samir: can a person get addicted to meth after they use it for the first time?
my buddy told me that honolulu was the meth capitol of the world
I don’t want to end up like that guy

Best answer:

Answer by Ney
yes, it is very possible. Because the high is so strong, but short and the crash is so hard, it is very addicting. People with addictive personalities are very likely to get hooked. It is also possible for it to kill you after the first use.

And the “Meth Capitol of the World” is not in Honolulu. Central Valley, California and Fresno, California have the the worst methamphetamine problems per capita.

April 12, 2011 - 9:58 am Comments Off

Question by skeeter: what is the easiest way for a meth addicted person to quit?
If my friend wants to quit cold turkey what will help her withdrawel symptoms besides another drug

Best answer:

Answer by melanie
she could try and enter a meth rehab center…a community of other users wanting to quit helps…otherwise like the sleeping problems try to make your days about the same when you go to bed and do all the tips on how to sleep better since it will be harder, also you can exercise during the day to help get you tired later plus elevate mood and also not make you think you look too fat…do a lot of positive activies things you enjoy, are antidepressants out of the mix? since your mood might take a giant crash i guess then just like try to change how you are thinking about things people make logical errors or assumptions that arent necessarily true and believe they are plus surrounding yourself in your environment with positive things and supports, and doing things you enjoy watching movies, reading books, puzzles, hanging out, (socializing is good), exercising is also good, or it can be like volunteering that ltruistic ‘good’ feeling…oh and technically there is no pharmacological detox drug for meth anyhow if thats what you were meaning by use of another drug…

Addiction is addiction.

Also – the treatment people make money whether their treatment is effective or not. They don’t have to come up with a different plan for different addictions.

The court doesn’t care what kind of treatment you get – as long as you get treatment. Mostly rehab and treatment are ineffective.
