Question by christine dh: I need to find drug rehabilitation centers in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. How?
I never thought there would come a time when I would be worrying about something like this. You see, ever since my mom and dad separated, my mom has turned into a drug addict. Of all the people who could be addicts, I never thought my mom would be one of them. But now here we are, on this road, wanting so much to do what we can in order for her to revert back to her old self. She has already realized the folly of her actions and is now willing to change. Any suggestions as to how to find drug rehabs?

See if you can find “Alcoholics Anonymous” listed in your phone book. If so, call them and ask if there are any “NA” (Narcotics Anonymous) groups in the area, and how you can get help for your mother. They also have groups and meetings for family members of those affected. Good Luck!

im in grade 10 and my mom said start thinking about jobs… this is something im highly looking into,, what courses do i need in high school?? i know for college i need a masters of arts degree in psychology, anything else? but my main question is what high school courses do i need? thaaanks:)

You need to do university preparatory courses in high school. AP courses would probably be a good idea. As long as you have good grades to get admitted to a psych program in university, you don’t really need to worry about the high school courses.

my brother is a recovering drug addict. he went to a naconon center and graduated from the classes there over 8 months. He is getting his master degree in phyc. so he really knows how to trick people.

my dad owns a company where myself, and my brother work. A couple days ago, i had someone leave me 200.00 in my desk. When I came back it was gone.

Do you think my brother took it or could it had been one of the 30 other employees. Do you think he could recover from oxy cotton in 8 months. He pawned all of mine, and my parents electronics, and prescriptions before. But after the narconon he is doing really well, so it seems. But he has no money.

the day that the 200 went missing he went to the Big MSU final four game tickets cost 250.00

And is it my place to accuse him of doing it when I dont know if he did , and he will make me feel bad.

It’s your dad’s company so tell your dad and let him decide what to do. I think it’s important to quickly find out who took it so they don’t do it again. Also, how about locking your desk or a filing cabinet that no one else has access to? I think you should take cash with you from now on when you leave the office. Another thing you might consider is buying a video camera and putting it in the office to see what goes on when you’re not in there.

Your suspicions are certainly understandable. People with drug addictions become really good at finding ways to fuel their addiction.

So many people are getting themselves addicted to drugs nowadays, and two of my friends are no exceptions. I figured maybe if I could get someone from a drug rehab to talk to them, maybe then they’d get convinced that they have to get themselves treated for their addiction as it is not doing them any good. Any suggestions?

It might be good to do a drug intervention for both your friends. This is a process done so that those who are addicted will acquiesce to getting themselves treated. I think this is what you want to do, and I agree with you about getting an intervention specialist to facilitate the intervention. i have looked into many rehabs in order to send my son so that I can help him get off of heroin. I have heard a lot about “drug-free detox” and rehab centers…can anyone let me know of a good one?

Just wondering if anyone has been through this and if you have any tips to help. We can’t afford for him to go to rehab. He has been clean for 4 days and has used for almost a year. I’m worried he will go back to using.

I hate to tell you bad news but meth is one of the most addictive drugs out there. It will be near impossible to stay clean for good without at least out patient rehab/counseling. If you contact your local government they have programs for rehabilitation which are free depending on your income.

For several decades drugs have been one of the major problems of society. There have been escalating costs spent on the war against drugs and countless dollars spent on rehabilitation, but the problem still exists. Not only has the drug problem increased but drug related problems are on the rise. Drug abuse is a killer in our country. Some are born addicts, while others become users.

Many believe that legalizing drugs would lessen crime. They point out that the legalization of drugs would deter future criminal acts. They also emphasize and contrast Prohibition. When the public realized that Prohibition could not be enforced the law was repealed. From this, one may infer the same of legalizing drugs. Legalizing alcohol didn’t increase alcoholism, so why would drugs increase drug abuse?

However, drugs should not be legalized because there would be an increase in drug abuse due to its availability. Once legalized, drugs would become cheaper and more accessible to people who previously had not tried drugs, because of the high price or the legal risk. Drug abuse would skyrocket! Addicts who tend to stop, not by choice, but because the drugs aren’t accessible would now feed the addiction if drugs were made legal.

Although people feel that legalizing drugs would lessen crime, drugs should remain illegal in the U.S because there would be an increase of drug abuse and a rapid increase of diseases such as AIDS. The United States can not afford this problem. It has become a world power by strengthening its people not by killing them. Drug abuse has gotten worse, with its effects on crack babies, drug addicts, and the I.V user. There must be education for the survival of this nation, not legalization.

I need to find alcohol rehabilitation centers for my dad. He’s in Clementon, which is so far away from where I am. I have only just gotten wind of the news that he’s now suffering from alcoholism. I don’t know what to do. He’s asking for my help and the only thing I could think of is that he has to get himself treated. I don’t know how to find alcohol rehabs, though.

Finding alcohol rehabs is fairly easy. The links below will be able to help you out. You can also ask your dad to get recommendations from doctors or healthcare providers. Just keep on getting in touch with him. Talk to him on the phone or send him encouraging messages. This might just be little things, but your moral support will help him get by. Alcoholism affects even those whom we think aren’t likely to get it. I’m really sorry about what has happened to your sister but I’m glad that she has already decided to get help and face her problem head on.
