Sophia Burr was a prostitute and drug addict she was arrested and placed in Project Fresh Start, a rehabilitation program. When she entered the Detroit Rescue Missions Genesis House III her whole life changed and she began to know the love of God. Sophia has completed treatment and now she is helping others in need by working at the Detroit Recovery Project.

Promoting World AIDS Day 2009 theme of Universal Access and Human Rights, Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal had launched Song of Hope music video Sayapatri amid major HIV and AIDS stakeholders, media personnel and general public during a national program organized in Kathmandu to commemorate World AIDS Day 2009. The music video “Sayapatri” was produced by ASHA Project/ Family Health International (FHI) Nepal with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Sayapatri- a song of hope from Nepal- is one of the seven songs in “Songs of Hope” CD which is a compilation of multilingual musical stories that capture the reality people of living with HIV and AIDS produced by Family Health International (FHI) in an effort to give a voice to adults and children living with HIV/AIDS, share their feelings of isolation and hope, and demonstrate that we all feel the same sorrow and joy. Songs of Hope is a partnership between the global music community and people living with HIV/AIDS in seven countries across the globe including Nepal. With the support of several community-based organizations, popular musical professionals were teamed with individuals who were ready to tell their stories. With the hope of tearing down walls and building emotional bridges, this music CD is dedicated to our brothers, sisters, partners and neighbors living with HIV and AIDS today. American Drug War: The Last White Hope is a 2007 documentary by writer/director Kevin Booth about the War on Drugs in the United States. The film claims the War on Drugs has become one of the longest and most costly wars in American history. Inspired by the death of four family members and close friend Bill Hicks from “legal drugs,” Texas filmmaker Kevin Booth sets out to prove his claim that the Drug War has failed. Three and a half years in the making, the film follows gang members, former DEA agents, CIA officers, narcotics officers, judges, politicians, prisoners and celebrities. There is also extensive treatment of CIA and Contras cocaine trafficking in the US. The film analyzes imprisoned drug trafficker Ricky Ross, described by a Los Angeles Times reporter as the “Wal-Mart of crack dealing.” After being arrested, Ross discovered through the work of journalist Gary Webb that his cocaine source had been working for the CIA.
