Question by Unas Slayer of the Gods: Will ecstasy show up as methamphetamines on a drug test?
My dumbass friend took some Ecstasy last night and is going to be drug tested today. Since methamphetamine is in the name of MDMA will it show up as methamphetamines?

“…it is chemically closely enough related to amphetamines that recent MDMA users will test positive in both amphetamines (a common test) and methamphetamines (a somewhat newer and less common test). Because of this, the detection periods for MDMA are very similar to those for amphetamines. Also, many tablets of street ecstasy are not pure MDMA and frequently includes amphetamines (and may also contain DXM, caffeine, MDA, MDE, ephedrine etc) which may trigger drug tests.”

Question by Jessie: Can you be fired from your job while in drug rehabilitation?
I’m wondering if and employer can terminate your employment if you go into rehab for narcotics. Nothing illegal they are prescribed but just need help getting off of them. Can employment be legally terminated or would this fall under the Rehabilitation or Disability Act?
We are from WV and it is my husband I’m talking about he had a back injury about 10 years ago and has been w/ his employer for 7 or 8 years. And yes it is prescribed medication that he is on and not any kind of street or illegal drugs.

We are an at will state……..you can be fired for anything……..no cause needed…….unless you have some sort of contract……….

Question by Mary From Wyoming: what is the BEST drug rehabilitation clinic for my husband to go to?
My husband has been struggling with a drug problem for about 2 years. He was addicted to cocaine and eventually starting mixing it with Heroine. Now he is Finally ready for help but he wants to keep it confidential and he is looking for an alternative to 12 step programs and an alternative to narconon. We are atheists and would prefer a NON religious drug treatment center. can anyone tell us where to get more information about this?

Good luck finding a rehab that isn’t 12 step based!

I’m an atheist in recovery as well!

I use the N/A program without the whole “god” thing!

Think of “god” as good orderly direction!

That’s what I did/do and have managed to stay clean and sober for almost 4yrs now!

No matter what you decide good luck to you both! Its not an easy road to tackle at first but with time and a clear mind its an amazing journey! Continued support is necessary to make it – you don’t just do 28 days rehab and assume all is well!

My son has been hooked to drugs since his college years. After high school, he decided to move out of the house. He told me he tried drugs only so he can fit in. He never thought he’d get hooked. But now that he’s been out of school for two years now and is still hooked to the habit, I am very much worried about him and his future. What should I tell him to give drug rehabilitation a try?

Question by Boo: Is there any sort of funding for drug rehabilitation centres and retreats?
My friend desperately needs to get help with her alcoholism. I have found a rehab facility that sounds perfect for her, dealing with underlying issues etc but her family have spent a fortune trying to help her get out of trouble for so many years, they simply cannot afford the 000 it costs for the six months. What help is available. My best friend is 24 and she is ruining her life, right before my eyes.

Her life will be worse if she has to pay that much. Find another rehab.

My best friend Phoebe and I are planning to go to Miami. We’re not going there because of the beach. We’re going to Miami because she’s planning to enter an drug rehabilitation. I tried to convince her of getting help to overcome her problem with cocaine and she said she’ll do it if I come with her. We’re from Pasadena and she wants to receive treatment from some place far away from home. Her visit to the rehab will be our little secret. Please help us. We need your answers as soon as possible. Miami is pretty far from Pasadena! Anyway, you can find a drug rehabilitation center almost anywhere. I’m sure you can find several of them in Miami. I’ll include some links to help you locate different rehabs in Florida. It’s good of you to come along with her. She really needs all the support she can get. Don’t give up on your friend. I think it wouldn’t hurt either if the two of you decide to have fun in Miami after her rehab stint. Good luck!
