ive used meth twice, in the past 6 months i have no urge for meth and i didnt even care about it, how come people say its addictive when im not even addicted to it at all

Answer by wendy.balsam everyone has different tollerence levels…i tried a lot of drugs a few times and never got addicted…feel like and dont be upset you arnt addicted

Answer by The Q You need to speak to him straight away. Speak to your sponsor or someone else in NA about it to go over how you will approach it. Anonymity is important for some people but remember you have no control over people places and things.

I did meth for a few months on the weekend with my boyfriend. How come I could stop doing it. I dont even want to do it anymore. I thought once you did it you would be addicted for life? My ex could never put it down and I have not touched it in over a year. I do not have a desire to ever do it again..Is it because I have a good life and great parents and I dont get addicted to stuff?

Answer by Tussenbroek addictions are caused by many things and greatly vary from person to person. just because someone has a happy life doesn’t mean they wont get addicted. some people are genetically more likely to have a psychical need. some people have odd behaviors so they obsess in their own heads about certain things and what it did for them making the next time that much better, its like pure satisfaction to some people. this is a huge long argument of nature vs. nurture. in this case by nature your boyfriend may be more likely to want to do meth AND he may have had a life that would have trained him more to become addicted. while you may not have the natural disadvantages and have positive influences in your life.
one way or another, addictions creep up on people and its harder to quit than what was previously thought. thats what causes some people to never want to stop after the first hit.
If you can talk to your kids about where babies come from – you can talk to your kids about drugs. Kids whose parents talk to them about drugs are 50% less likely to use drugs. Take the time to talk.
