Question by M B: Jehovah’s Witnesses, what does your literature say about your joining groups such as Narcotics Anonymous?
or Alcoholics Anonymous?

I really just want to know what it says in your literature, not what you surmise. If you have access to a CD-Rom of your literature, I would appreciate it if someone would make the effort to type in “Narcotics Anonymous” or “Alcoholics Anonymous” and see if anything comes up, such as “True Christians would never expose themselves to this group” or “this is up to your conscience”
if you search and nothing presents, that’d be good to know. thanks in advance.

AA has been around alot longer but their is recovery in NA, i know as a NA member myself, i have friends that have been addicted to heroin, crack, meth and many more drugs and are clean and have been for a very long time twenty years or more. Who only have attended NA.

I know many who have gone through these programs only to start using again, only days after completion.

According to statistics only twenty three percent work, the rest all slip back. Have no idea, how well they work the second time around. Perhaps the same 23%!

I’m doing a project on how addictive certain drugs are but I can’t seem to find anything with a timeline for how quickly peole become addicted. Sources would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve looked through the meeting lists I could find online and am not finding anything for that area. Anyone else able to find one? Even an Alcoholics Anonymous up there would work.

I know it causes MANY problems but Im wondering if its known to also specifically cause heart burn? LIke maybe for a regular smoker?

I’ve been seeing some strange things in my son now. I know he is a good kid and getting into drugs would be the most unlikely thing that he can ever involve himself in. But I know he has some addicted friends, and I am wondering if they have actually persuaded my son to try drugs. Now, he really looks so weird and is projecting baggy clothes and a bad appeal. It also bothers me not to have a sound discussion with him (which I normally had before his “strangeness”) because every time I try, he quickly slips off me and locks himself to his room. But whenever I win and engage him in a talk, I notice that he can’t seem to send his message across partly because of his contradicting and even vague ideas. I also caught him stammering, which really upsets me since he has been an eloquent boy.

Do you think he is really into drugs now, and will I have to send him to a drug rehabilitation center right away?

It is not really difficult to detect teen addiction. Actually, parents never fail to suspect that their children are into drugs, once they see the emergence of their kids’ sudden “strangeness.” But what you’ve noticed in your kid is actually parallel to the common symptoms of teen addiction: baggy clothes, stammering, isolation, and even the presence of addicted friends. Most of the teen addicts also flunctuate in school, are commonly loathsome and difficult, and look so physically different. But the most apparent red warning sign is his possession of drug paraphernalia. If these symptoms are present in a child, it would be helpful to sign him up for a drug rehabilitation. It would not be difficult to find a treatment for a teenager since most of the drug rehab programs today are generated to meet their needs. But enrolling in an addiction treatment center should be the kid’s voluntary decision otherwise all recovery efforts will be futile.

Things you should know about me.
I am currently on adderall and Trazodone (to sleep)
I just went to jail two nights ago because me and my meth addicted (withdrawing) mom got into a physical argument and we both got assault charges. We got into it because she wouldnt seek rehab or move out of my apt .
I’ve been under a lot of stress and I have always bottled my emotions because of my mother.
I;ve been diagnosed with AdHd and anxiety disorder and PTSD
I get so stressed out that i cant retain anything in my brain. Its numb
I just started seeing a new psychiatrist last friday after having gone a year of not seeing one.
I had a dream last night about being framed for a murder i didnt commit. I just started a new job and they were trying to get me on theft, so i tried to escape and i was on the run. The police finally caught up with me and there was a guy on the road that had deep cuts on his body and they were trying to get me for murder as well. I ended up in jail, helpless and miserable. I felt like my life was over and there was nothing i could do. Than they end up releasing me saying they couldnt find any proof or evidence that i ever stole anything or that a murdered anyone. Than my ex the only guy who has ever truley treated me like ive dreamed of starts coming back into my life and Im incredibly happy.

Than i ended up having another dream about my best friend of 11 years. There was house(which was a like a club with dorms) and i went there one night not knowing what it was and get into a fight with a girl who was a member there, and because of that I had to sell drugs for that Club. I had 6 out of 10 drugs deals that I had to follow thru with and I had to work certain public jobs to allow drug transactions or They would kill me. SO i pick six, and I went through with it only to not finish a job. So they start looking for me until they find me at my home and bust my knee caps. I get surgery which they pay for and say i better make a decision or they will kill me. So my best friends comes down to visit me and Im at a job and someone who failed a job is about to get killed so i beg my best friend for us to leave but he wants to see whats happening and im crying and scared and running around with busted knee caps…
This is my real life. I allowed my mother to move in with me. My question was really why an i having these weird dreams.
I finally kicked my mother out of my apartment (she was living with me) and I feel better, but i still dont have a mom. I’m trying to accept it and move on, but i’ve been having crazy dreams and my mind is numb.
NOTE: The first half is real about what you should know about me, the story about my dreams of being framed for murder and busted knee’s is a dream

Is this a legitimate question? If even half of it is true you are in desperate need of help. Do you have a friend you trust who you can confide in? You need to put as much distance as you can from your mother. She will ultimately destroy you. Get away and stay away. I’ll bet a lot of your circumstance will disappear if you just leave. If you can’t change your attitude then change your lattitude. So somewhere else and start all over again with a fresh new start. You have too many problems to face in you current environment. I hope for the best for you.

I know in my state the only place you can purchase NA merchandise is online or at most of the Conventions in the state. Good Luck.
