How long should I be off Vicodin before drinking alcohol?

It’s the third day since I got my wisdom teeth extracted. I know to wait a couple days before drinking and also to not drink alcohol while on my medication but I don’t know how long it takes for the medicine to go through my system. It says to take the pills every 4 hours as needed so does that mean that the medication goes through the system in a little over 4 hours? How long after my last pill can I drink anything alcoholic?

No, it definitely does not mean that it’s out of your system in four hours. That’s just the time that it is active in your bloodstream, however, the medicine is still in your liver, while your body filters it out. For that sort of medicine to be completely out of your system it takes approximately a week. However, it’s probably safe after 1 or 2 days.
