What happens if your baby drinks too much water?

I have heard too much water for your baby can be bad. But how much is too much? My little boy is 6 months old and drinks about 4-7oz a day (not all at once) as well as his usual 4x 7oz bottles of formula and 2-3 solid feeds a day. I am just a bit worried that this is too much.
He drinks between 4 to 7 oz of water a day sometimes less but never more

No, that is not too much water – 7oz taken over a day is fine, especially in hot weather.

I have heard that it can cause the child to go into seizures and cause the kidneys to go into shock. I would contact your doctor because they can tell you what is a correct amount for your child’s weight and diet.

Is this 4-7 ounces or 4, 7 ounce bottles? If you’re giving your kid 28 ounces of water, that may be a bit too much.

    Normal! Juices, water, broth…Normal!!!
If your baby was 2 weekd old then I would be worried because water has no nutrients, when they are older as yours… they need water bc all the solids they are eating

i am not sure what will happen but mine used to spit it up if it was too much or they could not handle it.

Babies under 12 months do not need water – it replaces more nutritional food and formula.

u need to discuss the amt for him with your doc…
the result of too much can lead to electrolyte imbalances that can become deadly..
